A Level 80 WoW Mage Leveling Spec

By Mike Thomas

The key to a good Wow Mage Leveling Spec is to have good damage dealing ability while also being able to attack often. Ideally, there would be very little down time between battles. If the down time is too much it either means the WoW Mage build is causing the player to take damage or the spells are not doing enough damage for the amount of mana they are costing.

Before deciding on your Wow Mage leveling spec, you must first be knowledgeable about the spells available to a mage in World of Warcraft. The fire tree of spells is one of the primary spell trees. These fire based attacks are great for doing damage. The next tree of spells a mage should know about are the spells in the frost tree. Frost tree spells lack the damage of fire tree spells, but are helpful in slowing down enemies movement. Arcane spells make up the final tree of spells for mages. Arcane spells are not typically used to damage targets, but help the mage in other ways.

The best WoW Mage Leveling spec focus on the fire tree of spells for the most part.Fire spells are superior to frost and arcane spells in terms of how much damage they due per a second. With higher damage per second, enemies typically die faster. The faster enemies die, the less chance there is the player takes damage. Less player damage equals less time healing or making the trip back from the graveyard. In short, more damage is a good thing overall.

While choosing the frost spells provides some enemy debuffs such as slowing or stopping movement, a mage fire talent build can quickly incinerate any opposition. Besides, a dead enemy deals less damage than a slowed one any day. In the end, killing an enemy quickly is the preferred method of leveling fast

A good WoW Mage Leveling Spec will have additional powers that help improve upon the attack spells of the mage. Alone, spells such as Impact and Ignite are not real impressive, but when combined with Blast Wave or Flamestrike, they add the ability to hit multiple targets and/or put a status effect on enemies.Flame Throwing is another good example as it allows the mage to attack from further away and do more damage before targets get into melee range. - 30202
