Browsing For A Wonderful Movie? Check Out These Remarkable Movie Commentary

Each Hollywood producer has one target in mind when they make a motion picture. They want to put out a film that is a giant hit that the public loves. A terrific story, some wonderful stars along with a couple of special effects and there you have the formula for a tremendous box-office victory. Or do you? Sometimes a motion picture will have all of the theoretical essential components and it will still fall short at the box office. There are no conclusive recipes to make a Hollywood runaway success.

Lantana - Heartbreaking, adult story of relations obstructed by monotony, routine, and absence of articulation. LaPaglia plays a cop, whose marriage has stagnated, leading him to have an affair. In the mean time, he investigates the disappearance of a lady whose own marriage is in danger. The film is beautifully nuanced at every turn. Cast includes Anthony LaLaglia, Geoffrey Hurry, Barbara Hershey, Kerry Armstrong, Rachael Blake, Vince Colosimo, Daniela Farinacci, and Peter Phelps. (121 minutes, 2001)

Bug - film version of Tracy Letts' play is tough to take critically however not without a twist or two if you could acknowledge it as a stunt. This is simply bug versus man. Cast includes Ashley Judd, Michael Shannon, Harry Connick, Jr., Lynn Collins, and Brian F. O'Byrne. (101 minutes, 2007)

The Last Time I Saw Archie - Webb's single try at comedy is less farcical than some of his more solemn films; a shame, since William Bowers' script-based on his own Army experiences had genuine potential, and Mitchum enjoyably underplays as the con guy. By the way, the genuine Archie Chamber sued for invasion of privacy. Cast includes Robert Mitchum, Jack Webb, Martha Hyer, France Nuyen, Louis Nye, Richard Arlen, Don Tangles, Joe Flynn, and Robert Strauss. (98 minutes,'61)

Kimberley Jim - Little musical of 2 carefree gamblers who win a fortune in a fixed poker game, and then have a change of heart. Cast includes Jim Reeves, Madeleine Guide, Clive Pamell, Arthur Swemmer, and Mike Holt. (82 minutes,'65)

Scandalous - Featherbrained sham in regards to investigative Television journalist who runs afoul of a team of con artists as he tries to disentangle himself from a homicide charge. Cast includes Robert Hays, John Giegud, Pamela Stephenson, and Jim Dale. (94 minutes,'84)
