The Xbox 360 Above The Rest

By Larry Moon

Over the years, Microsoft has had to deal with everything from the Playstation 2 and 3 to the Wii, as well as all the hand held versions out there. This was back when they unleashed their own version calling it the Xbox. It seems like forever ago, but it was around the same time the Nintendo GameCube was getting positive reviews for gearing it towards innocent kids games. It was a hard period of time for Microsoft to sit back and wait to release the ultimate gaming system called the Xbox 360.

It was the best thing on the market for about a year, but as the gaming console wars continued, Sony and Nintendo looked for competing versions. This was when people were spending hours standing in a long line in hopes to get themselves or their kids one for Christmas. Once the Playstation 3 and Wii surfaced, it became a difficult task for gamers to figure out which one they should buy. While all of them have strengths and weaknesses, here's how the Xbox 360 compares to the other two consoles.

When comparing the 360 to the Nintendo Wii, there really isn't a comparison. Just take a look at the graphics from each console at your local gaming store and you'll see how far ahead the Xbox 360 is in this department. While this may be true, there are similar titles that can be played on both systems, so you ought to compare the controls.

The Xbox 360 controller allows it to be a bit easier to play most games like first person shooters, sports game, or other top Xbox 360 exclusive games. The Wii's primary selling point to their system is the motion controller's and while its a good piece of technology, it makes some of the first person shooter games and sports games a bit hard to play.

The Xbox 360 also has more highly-rated titles that are meant for older audiences while the Wii likes to keep their games accessible by people of any age. Some game makers are making special first-person titles that are Wii-exclusive, but it terms of quality of games, the Xbox 360 still ahead of the competition.

While the Wii is on a plateau of its own, the PS3 is the Xbox 360's biggest competitor. Each one of these systems are unbelievable when it comes to the technology used to make the graphics so life-like. If you know someone who owns a Playstation 3, they can enjoy Blu-ray support that Microsoft's console doesn't have in the system. However, many people believe the Xbox 360 video cards are about as comparable to a PC game like World of Warcraft then any other gaming console. It's an ongoing debate by every fan of these consoles around the world.

However, if you're looking for more exclusive franchises, then the PS3 takes the cake. Then again, if you're looking for more exclusive titles you'll want to get a Xbox 360. While we're unsure of a true winner in this area, we will tell you that the Xbox 360 holds more titles and more positive ratings. So we might want to give them a slight edge over their competition.

But no console is very far behind this time. Still, the Xbox 360 still impresses in terms of both software and hardware features. It won't eliminate the console wars any time soon, but the Xbox 360 is still a powerful system where you can play loads of great games. - 30202
