Dracula's Daughter: A Spanish language adaptation of the terror classic was filmed simultaneously with the Hollywood rendition on the identical sets although much of the orchestrating and camerawork are actually better in this Spaniosh version! Other chief variance: the ladies are outfitted more provocatively. All that's missing is a performer with the appeal of Lugosi in the lead role. Cast includes Carlos Villar Villarias, Lupita Tovar, Pablo Alvarez Rubio, Barry Norton, Eduardo Arozamena, Carmen Guerrero, and Manuel Arbo. (103 minutes, 1931)
Airport: Weak, later Laurel and Hardy comedy. One conceivably excellent scene with dull-burn as director Kennedy doesn't meet his normal high standards. Cast includes Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy, Edgar Kennedy, Jacqueline White, Horace Stephen McNally, and Donald Modest. (67 minutes, 1943)
The Great Lie: Brent weds Davis after breaking off an engagement with Astor. Astor is carrying his child. He is lost in a plane crash, leaving Davis and pregnant Astor to battle each other and all the complications. Cast includes Mary Astor, Bette Davis, George Brent, Lucile Watson, Hattie McDaniel, Permit Mitchell, and Jerome Cowan. (107 minutes, 1941)
Lawyer Man: Powell is aces in this entertaining drama as an ambitious attorney, with an eye for the chicks, who tangles with crooked congressmen. Blondell is his dependable, lovesick secretary. Powell even talks Yiddish in this one. Cast includes William Powell, Joan Blondell, Claire Dodd, Sheila Terry, Alan Dinehart, David Landau, Roscoe Karns, and Sterling Holloway. (72 minutes, 1932)
The Air I Breathe: Four overlapping, connect the dots story lines, based on a Chinese proverb and titled "Cheerfulness," "Delight," "Grief," and "Love," make up this mess of a film. Starts out promisingly, as a disgruntled office android Whitaker unintentionally figures out that a horse race has been fixed, then it inexplicably shits into a cartoon like train wreck. Cast includes Kevin Bacon, Julie Delpy, Brendan Fraser, Andy Garcia, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Clark Gregg, Emile Hirsch, Woodland Whitaker, Kelly Hu, Evan Parke, Taylor Nichols, Winner Rivers, and Jon Bernthal. Adios Amigo: Eccentric western comedy, written, produced, and directed by Williamson, who plays a patsy to con guy Pryor. There is no sex or brutality in this harmless film, but it just doesn't quite work. Cast includes Fred Williamson, Richard Pryor, Thalmus Rasulala, James Brown, and Robert Phillips. Directed by Fred Williams (1975-Comedy 87 minutes rated PG)
Like Father Like Son: A heart surgeon unintentionally sprinkles an old Indian potion into his Bloody Mary and presto, he and his young child have switched identities. Cast includes Dudley Moore, Kirk Cameron, Margaret Colin, Catherine Hicks, Patrick O'Neal, and Sean Astin. (98 minutes, 1987)
