Davis is positively on point as an aging megastar that takes in a loving fan (Baxter) and eventually finds that the youthful lady is taking over her life. This quaint and immersing film plays like drama, not documentary, with the exception of that it takes spontaneous twists and turns no author might create. The film presents a scorching commentary on our school system, the indomitable power of the family, and the uncertainty of life. (109 minutes, 1994)
