Do Not Overlook These Chilling Horror Motion Pictures

By Beverly Y Brooks

It seems that each October the ghosts, the ghouls, the witches and the goblins come out. Halloween is in the air, but terrifying films are enjoyable to observe all year long. Here are a few scary motion pictures that you can download right away.

Good horror motion pictures often get remade over and over again. "House on Haunted Hill" initially came out in 1959 and then again in 1999, 40 years later. In the motion picture a millionaire and his wife offer 5 guests the chance to get some money, ironically with inflation it was only $10,000 in 1959 and a cool $1,000,000 in 1999, if they can remain the entire night in a haunted house.

In the 1959 edition the millionaire was played by Vincent Price. Other players included Carol Ohmart, Richard Long, Alan Marshal, Carolyn Craig and Elisha Cook. The characters altered names, occupations and characteristics in the 1999 version but the storyline remained the same. Geoffrey Rush portrayed the millionaire, along with Famke Jannsen as his wife. The guests included Taye Diggs, Peter Gallagher, Chris Kattan, Ali Larter and Bridgette Wilson.

No horror motion picture assortment would be inclusive without Bram Stoker's Dracula. The initial Dracula film from 1931 starred Bela Lugosi as Count Dracula. The most recent edition from 1992 starred Gary Oldman as Dracula and also included Wynona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins and Keanu Reeves.

Many versions of Dracula have been made throughout the years and though there are some differences the main chronicle stays the same, a vampire inflicts terror on the residents of Transylvania. Bram Stoker wrote the original novel back in 1897.

And the next one to see is "The Prince of Darkness" from 1987. A long-lost and forgotten container is found in an deserted Los Angeles church. The canister contains the devil himself and if it is unleashed it could mean the end of civilization, as we know it. It is up to the Pastor and a group of students to foil the destruction.

"The Prince of Darkness" stars Donald Pleasence, Jameson Parker, Victor Wong and Lisa Blount. Alice Cooper, the rock star, makes an appearance as a street schizo. John Carpenter directed the movie.

Anytime of the year is a good time to scare yourself silly with a great horror flick. Check out these and other great titles and download them now so you can watch them tonight. - 30202
