Go Girl Gamers

There won't have been a way to stop people from expressing themselves and there will be many avenues for this expression. Music, poem, and paintings are some of the more traditional. But with the advent of technology, things have taken on a more engineered level.

Computer games nowadays have become a major part of our lives especially for those computer gamers who are more fanatic about their games. A lot of different personalities come about, different view points are also made and even gamer stereotypes are rapidly disappearing and these all happens during a computer game. It's as though this basic human need to express oneself has become so much more than that. And among the issues involved, gender seems to be the most storied.

Girl gamers, for example, are a favorite subject when discussing gaming. This will probably have to do with girls' cracking the notion that video games are men's territory and when women come in, there's always a bit of a commotion. Understanding what this is all about just might need us to look at girl gamers themselves and how they have evolved from the time they first broke that gender barrier until today when people have nearly forgotten it once existed.

There was a time when girls gamed and were very typical about it. They preferred girl games, of course, like doll dress-ups and virtual cooking. Or, if they ever played something dominated by boys, they usually got special treatment and felt a special kind of high for being singled out that way.

Back then, when girls played with the boys, there was an undeniable element of coolness that added hugely to their sex appeal. This was the time when it seemed like the world was just fascinated with the thought that girls could do like boys.

Today, much of that has changed that there's nearly no trace of what it was like before. When you see girls jamming with boys, it's almost as if they were one and the same all along. And they probably are when it comes to gaming. Girls now go for those hard kills in combat games and are just as aggressive as the boys. There's the question of whether these gals have actually gotten better in their game or if they have simply increased in number that people are no longer amazed when they see one. Still, fact remains that gaming is no longer men's territory because the women have made their own conquests in equally profound ways. - 30202
