The first thing that can happen is a software problem. This is very common. You should know that restarting the system incorrectly will eventually cause this problem. Others things can happen too that can corrupt files or otherwise make your system inaccessible. The easiest way to fix this is to do a system restore. You should try to keep the mindset that the PS3 is somewhat like a computer and functions similarly to one. There is a way to go about entering safe mode and doing this and you should check your game manual on how.

The next thing that can happen is a physical problem. This can be a s simple as a disconnected cable or a disc stuck in the drive. Check your cables and make sure everything is plugged in. Also make sure to not pull on the disc until it has fully ejected from the tray. When it has ejected do not left up but pull it vertically. Lifting up can cause the disc to break in the system.

Hardware issues are the one you really need to worry about. If something happens with your hardware than you will need to have it repaired. This could happen if you leave your system on too long or just a faulty system.
